Welcome to my blog So this is a place I will probably rant and rave, wear my heart on my sleeve, gush on my family, and most importantly share my art...the photo stories of wonderful couples and people I cross paths with.   Don't be afraid to bookmark it, or leave a comment.  I love hearing from everyone and anyone.  Check back frequently...I will try to keep you updated.

We are enjoying a week at the beach and lucky Wesley gets to spend his bday here!!!
This is the 2nd year we have come back to Sunset Beach and I am totally in love with this place.  We came to this beach when I was little, 2 years in a row and got treated by my parents again with a glorious week of sun and sand.  I over-did it and used not- so- waterproof sunscreen on my growing belly and it has been red for a few days now...not as sensitive to the touch finally.  I got what I deserved though.  I always joke with Bill that "I don't burn, I am Jewish"....well even this Jewish descendant burnt this week....so much for that ;)  Must be the preggo hormones.  So I ate my words.
We are going to pick up his dinosaur cake at a local bakery and have a party this afternoon.
I can't wait to see it, and eat it ;)

29 weeks and counting....

Emily and Rob (scroll down to see their esesh) have been such a cool couple to get to know.  I absolutely love Emily's style...her bridal session was one of my favorites.  Emily told me months and months ago that she and Rob wanted to see eachother before the ceremony and I was again....excited!  They wanted to give each other a gift and have a few minutes alone before the "i dos" and I think it was perfect.  I stayed back to give them a little space...and watched with bated breath as Emily opened a little turquoise box, LUCKY!  The wedding details were absolutely perfect and beautiful.  Emily is so chic it kills me!!!  I love her expressions and could honestly photograph her every day of the week!  Rob, you aren't bad either, but you just don't work it like Em...don't hate ;)  The day started out with a downpour, then Emily's keys were locked in her car while it was running...but it ended beautifully and you would never know the rain came down like it did.  I hope you enjoy these pictures as much as I enjoyed taking them.  Rob and Emily it has been such a pleasure.  I just love you guys!!!

Pretty girl and lovely pictures. I really loved her indoor bridal portraits, even though it was your backup location.

Jamie and Matt were one of very few couples that chose to see each other before their ceremony.  I wanted to squeal with delight when she told me.  It isn't something I push- being in the South and all, but something I really enjoy.  There are benefits to seeing or not seeing each other...one is they did all of the family pictures before the ceremony and it freed up the evening for dancing and fun.  We took about 10 minutes to do the family pictures and it was over.  After they were married it was straight to the reception.
I think for the groom this is a way he can spend a few minutes with his bride without hundreds of guests watching his reaction to her walking down the aisle.  Again...I love both ways and enjoy shooting either.  This is just a way to maximize your time and have a minute together before everything starts.
I just love Jamie and all her great expressions.  You can see her bridal portraits here.

Well done, Ashley. My favorite images are the Cubs garter and the doorway frame-within-a-frame.

Question: which of these images did you use flash for? If you used flash, it was very subtlely done.

The one with the bride with her hands on her hips has that tough mid-day sun to work with. You could have used me there for some reflector fill or to scrim the light on her.

Have an idea that I'll run by you soon.

Keep it up! Talk to you soon.
