Welcome to my blog So this is a place I rant and rave, wear my heart on my sleeve, gush on my family, and most importantly share my art...the photo stories of wonderful couples and people I cross paths with.   Don't be afraid to bookmark it, or leave a comment.  I love hearing from everyone and anyone.  Check back frequently...I will try to keep you updated.

I was so excited to find out that Lisa and Nathan were getting married at Litchfield Beach, just like Nathan's sister had a year before.  I had the pleasure of shooting Corey and Devin's wedding a year prior and was so happy to get the see the fam again!  There have been so many changes in their lives and mine, it was nice to chat and spend a gorgeous day together.  This family exudes love and family and togetherness...I really enjoy the poo out of them!
Lisa and Nathan are a really passionate couple that I coudn't have had an easier time photographing.  Nathan's dad officiated the ceremony (I hope that grammar is right, this baby has taken my vocabulary big time), which added another family touch with I am just crazy about!  We were even lucky enough to get a little lightning at the end of the night.  Dancing+ family+ romance + not-too-dangerous lighting = perfect reception!

I have been having fairly uncomfortable contractions for a two days now.  We are just waiting and trying to keep the baby from being born until I am 36 weeks.  I will be, on Monday so we are almost there.
Wesley and Betsy were both born 4 weeks early, so we have been prepared for a possible early delivery.  I wanted to share two pictures from my maternity session with Stacy.  She really did a fabulous job with my family (more with the kids can be seen on fb)...I love her more than I can say.  I will treasure these pictures for the rest of my life.  I am getting huge canvas' blown up because my kids love nothing more than seeing themselves and being surrounded by portraits.  Nothing makes home feel more like home.  Cross your fingers that we can make it another night ;)  Thanks for everyone's thoughts and prayers, we appreciate it!!  090718a-SLP-ASHLEY-124.jpg

Stacy and I have been chatting about a workshop happening August 10-12 at the Center for Photography, and I wanted to share the info with you.  The Center will be welcoming acclaimed portrait photographer Bob Croslin as he hosts his lighting workshop "the Power of Light".  I am so excited about the opening night block party that will be held at the Center.  They are having a BBQ, a dj, live hip hop dancers.  I am a sucker for hip- hop dancers, what can I say.  The workshop will focus on location and studio lighting and posing- which is what it is all about.  I am going if this baby girl is out and doing okay.  There will be a portfolio review as well which is both humbling and super important for growth as a photographer...
I get emails all the time about "where can I start I am new to photography"...well get yourself schooled!!!!  Here is your chance!
Check out the August schedule, there are tons and tons of opportunities to fill your heads with all things photo, editing, photoshop, etc - no matter what your skill level- at the Charleston Center for Photography.
You can also call 843-720-3105 for more information!
