Welcome to my blog
So this is a place I rant and rave, wear my heart on my sleeve, gush on my family, and most importantly share my art...the photo stories of wonderful couples and people I cross paths with. Don't be afraid to bookmark it, or leave a comment. I love hearing from everyone and anyone. Check back frequently...I will try to keep you updated.

Sylvia and Jarrott chose to be married on the grounds of their beautiful home in Elgin, SC. They own a fantastic home that sits on sprawling acreage with lots of hills, beautiful trees, and a pretty pond. It is a little piece of heaven, right outside of Columbia. They were sure lucky when they found that property, cause it is a gem, plain and simple.
Sylvia and Jarrott are both surgeons in the same field but at different hospitals, which I find so interesting because they can refer to one another for a second opinion. I can't imagine a better pairing than these two. They are both silly, but serious and totally in love.
Congrats to you, Sylvia and Jarrott. Many years of successful medicine and a passionate love may you both have ;)
I want to also add, that Jessica from Southern Way Catering was amazing. Their crew was super polite and one of the most organized and hospitable teams I have ever worked with. The food was magnificent, they even set up a mock table and chairs and brought us drinks and napkins- they bent over backwards for Emily and myself like we were wedding guests. I can only hope I can work with them again soon. Southern cooking that is as delicious as it is beautiful. I don't always post food pics, but had to throw in a small pic of the courses.
Thank you Jessica + Team Southern Way ;)

Cherrish and David are actually close friends of ours. I was really honored when they asked me to shoot their wedding. I love shooting close to home as I get to drive less and for this I got to enjoy my family cause they were INVITED!! That is always a treat. I was super nervous that Abby would yell "she's so cute" during the ceremony, but she didn't.
David and Cherrish came over quite a bit while Bill was in Afghanistan and "Mr. David" would play legos with Wesley and I will be forever grateful. I love you guys!!! Happy Love to you!!
*the first pics of Cherrish are from our bridal session. The girls you see are Cherrish's little sisters!! And the pic of the baby with the bottle in her teeth looking like she is about to challenge the little boy looking at her, is none other than little miss Abby Brokop.

Ashley...these pictures are stunning!!!!!! like we could have ever had anyone else shoot this day. it was so good working with you, again-and as always! I love your uncanny ability to capture moments and highlight their beauty, comedy, drama, or even simplicity. You see life through these candid frames and that is only one of the things I love about you. WE were and are honored to have you as our photographer and better, our friend! For those of you browsing and considering using Ashley for a wedding, or any occasion, I promise you, you will fall in love with her. We love you Ashley. ~The Bransons

Jenna and Matthew wanted a first look- to have a minute together before the ceremony.
Btw- the above image is one of my favorites- her face is priceless.

the shot 3rd down {view from far off}- was Em's- and I just adore that shot!

Since the ceremony + reception were in the same physical location {love this} I will share the details next.

next we wanted to take advantage of the last few minutes of daylight {and the dark} for some portraits.

I loved shooting this wedding, being at this wedding...getting to know Jenna. It's one of those weddings that I drive home sad because it is over. I know it isn't over because Jenna will be even closer in a few months and we can chat over coffee about photography and light and film. I can't wait to see what becomes of her professional career. I love that she is in her twenties and has spent as much time in the darkroom as I have.
I want to write a book about you guys, but you are waiting to see this post right now!
My love to you!!!
