I was notified that my package was approved and I am now certified a Greener photographer! Looks like I am the only SC photographer...which saddens me, but excites me about what photographers in our state can do!  We can only get better and more involved from here!

I have a few projects going, and I want to start posting ways to green up your life...just stuff we have made a part of our daily routines.

  • -unplug everything that isn't being used ie coffee maker, hair dryer, radios, you name it!
  • -(we have our tv on a power strip that we turn off every time it isn't in use)  this will help you stop wasting power, and save your electric bill!
  • -set your computer to sleep after 15 min and put it to bed at night too!
  • -water your lawn in the EARLY morning!!  We water around 4:30 or 5 before the sun is hot
  • -recycle.period
  • -set up bins to recycle household waste...most of your "trash" can be recycled.
  • -here is a some helpful info
  • -if you would like more info about becoming a Greener photographer please see their website or contact me!

Caitlin had one of the most relaxed bridal sessions I have ever shot.  It was just me, her, my camera, and a boatload of pollen.  I can't stress enough how awesome it is when a bride comes without a huge entourage to possibly make her feel uncomfortable and self conscious.  Not too many people besides professional models do well in the situations...just my 50 cents.
That being said...with the session not so far behind us, I knew the wedding would follow suit.
There were so many moments from the wedding that I loved...Caitlin's sons walking/pushing each other down the aisle.  Caitlin's son Gavin trying to cut the wedding cake...The horse Austin was a benefactor also.
Probably the coolest wedding gift ever, was given at this wedding.  Caitlin had a guitar made for Daniel by one of his best friends.  They said that one night they were in the car together...Caitlin happened to be in the backseat taking notes and listening as Daniel mentioned what the most perfect guitar would look and feel like, down to the color and everything.  She took good notes and had the exact guitar of his dreams fabricated by one his closest friends.  He was shocked and excited and well speechless.
I wish these two a life of great love and great music!!!

So here is the story.  We are taking a lot of time this holiday season to fill up our bellies with good food and good ole' family time cause my sweet husband is shipping out shortly.  We are braving the cold up here in Chicagoland and enjoying family and gloves and running from place to place to get out of the cold.  Our heated seats sure come in handy here.
I am slack with blogging and will be the first to admit it.  Follow me on fb and you will see my long list of resolutions- which I usually follow pretty well.  Here are more pictures...I want to have the rest on tomorrow as well as the full vendor list....as well as my sweet story about Hilary and Craig.  Forgive me sweet bored blog watchers.  I will try to entertain this year.  Twenty Ten is going to be wild....husbandless...new baby...2 toddlers...sweet Jesus I need a miracle ;)

Let me start with Craig.  His job interests the heck out of me. He attended the University of South Carolina and got a Mechanical Engineering degree.  He is now working outside of Columbia on a project developing and constructing 2 new nuclear power plants.
Green power fascinates the heck out of me, so much so that next year we have talked about visiting nuclear plants and wind turbines in every state we can...but I bet the kids would rather do something Disney related?!?!
Hilary grew up in Massachusetts and moved to SC for college.  "I just want to be a clinical social worker and fantastic wife," Hilary said about her career and about being Mrs. Stover.
Hilary's smile, sincerity and kindness are contagious.  She is the girl you want to be around.  I have never heard a negative or unkind thing leave her mouth...she is the girl I feel bad gossiping in front of because it just doesn't seem to be her silhouette.  I think that is awesome, and I admire her a lot.  Hilary has the smile that can melt you, whether girl, boy, whatever. When I see her with her sweet dad the "Father of the Bride" movie plays out before my eyes.  I love that and honestly envy that.  Just in speaking with him, you can tell her dad loves her to pieces.  He wanted nothing more than this wedding to be everything she has dreamt of.  From the horse drawn carriage picking them up RIGHT in front of the chapel (never seen that before personally) to the Christmas ornaments, to the sparkly details that had Hilary written all over them; every detail was well thought out and super personalized and special.
Hilary and Craig couldn't be more different, but couldn't be more perfect.  I really believe that opposites attract, opposites balance and opposites can stick it out together.  I love you Hil...from your smile, to your sweet emails, to your favorite Journey song, and to your perfectly Northern/ Southern disposition.  Girl you are perfect in any part of the country.  Us Northerners have to stick together...eat some shrimp and grits together and visit all the Nuclear plants together on a family vacay.
